BEYOND HOOD AND EVIL PODCAST
"Beyond Hood and Evil" (BHAE) is a comedic podcast about the Black experience launched at the height of the Global shutdown of 2020. What began as a check-in between good friends has blossomed into an award winning podcast with thousands of annual listeners. As co-host and co-founder of BHAE, Kris is responsible for all creative, marketing and the overall Beyond Hood and Evil brand.
Signal Awards - Web and Social Ads
The Signal Awards is the largest podcast awards competition in the world. Beyond Hood and Evil (BHAE) was a passion project between myself one of my best friends, Mike McElveen. BHAE was nominated for three awards, the listeners choice award, health and wellness award, and best driveway moment. We placed in all three categories and won the listeners choice award.
Due to the status of our competitors I ran a google ads and a paid social media campaign to make up for our limited reach in comparison. We had a CTR of .27% on a $200 budget and ended up beating Jay Shetty and Prince William for the Listeners Choice award.

Beyond Hood + Evil - Merch Promo Video
As we entered into our third season we incorporated video into the podcast. With us being on screen I thought it would be smart to launch a merch line so we could promo our own brand instead of someone else's brand. The ad mixed our signature comedic dynamic of Mike bringing the facts and myself bringing the laughs.
The ad was shot with Canon MK II and edited with Abode After Effects. The merch samples were created with Photoshop. The music was an original composition.

Beyond Hood + Evil - Subscribe Video
BHAE had a dedicated listenership on Apple Podcast and Spotify with it being within the top 5% of shared Podcast in the world. I had aspirations to grow the platform on YouTube so I had Mike and myself do a brief "bump" to urge folks to subscribe.

Beyond Hood + Evil - Promo Clips
Every good podcast has clips. The clip on the left went viral gaining more than 600,000 plays over the course of three days on Instagram and Facebook and the clip on the left had the highest CTR of .40 percent on instagram alone. These two pieces are responsible for the lion share of the growth of BHAE on Facebook and Instagram.
Both clips were created using a combination of Adobe Rush and After Effects.
